- bigred1cavExplorerGrayton is very nice. With a caveat, if you have dogs there are burrs and they get in dogs feet. Very difficult and painful to remove.
- Pine_BarrenExplorerGrayton Beach state park is one of our favorites. Already have reservations for the week of July 6th. (Our 25th anniversary) just like others have said a very beautiful campground and park. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Destin and Panama City beach. The town of Seaside and Graytin are very nice little towns also. Our 2nd choice would have to be St Andrews then Port saint joe state park. Haven't ever stayed at any of those in Destin

I wish everyone would stop directing others to Top Sail, I can't get the reservations I want. ;)
Exactly...We made reservations in November 2013 for April 2014. Only a few sites left and not for an entire week...had to break up half the week there and the other half at Grayton...was good though... - cwill925ExplorerWe stayed at Camp Gulf in September. Fabulous place, make reservations now. Don't waste your time trying to get into Top Sail. :B

Actually, Camp Gulf was nice, we got there when the place was only about half occupied. We left when the place was fully sold out. Getting a 43 foot Toyhauler out from the sites near the beach, with cars and trucks parked in the road was really tight.
Walking only a few yards to the beach was really nice. That's what you pay for, the convenience to the beach. The location of Camp Gulf is great; close to restaurants, shopping and other attractions. - ChiefcpoExplorerHave my site reserved at Camp Gulf 31 days cost $1000.00, close to grocery stores, outlet malls, restruants, 6 miles east is a great seafood store, and the beach is private.
They have enlarged the sites and full concrete pads. quite, clean, safe, well maintained, and the staff is very helpful with anything you need.
This is our 4th year, Joe's 12th, Billy and Dora 16 years must say something. - wbwoodExplorerWe drove through Henderson and liked it. But ti would only be a short trip there for us. No more than 2 or 3 days since they only have the dump and no sewer hookups on site. If I'm gonna drive to the dump, I'm not gonna turn around. I'm gonna keep going...lol The other negative thing to us is that it's right in the hub bub of Destin. We prefer to be out from it. Topsail and Grayton fit that bill. Both have FHU also. Topsail also has the pool (which my kid prefers over the beach) and cable tv (comes in handy at night and inclimate weather). They also have free wifi, but you have to be over near the pool and store for it. We prefer Grayton's location overall. It's nice that they have the new section with FHU, but I don't really car for the gravel site (like Henderson). Plus there is no shade on those sites. The older E/W sites are nicely shaded and more private.
- roadtoadfloridaExplorerYep, also stayed at Henderson Beach before. Good as Grayton Beach. But this trip it was full, so did the GB thing. Geez I live here and Henderson never entered my mind. Duh!
- garmpExplorer IITopSail is nice for a RV park, but sorta like parking at a RV dealer lot with expensive trees and a long way to the beach. IMHO Henderson Beach is much better, but so is Ft Pickens. St. Joe is isolated and way out of the way for groceries, meals and so forth, but more of the camping experience. Grayton Beach, & it breaks my heart to publicize this, is THE BEST in the area for beach, convenience, campsites, and all around beauty. Further east is St Andrew SP. A very nice park on the outskirts of town, or actually almost in the town of Panama City. Very nice park and everything is there. But that's just my opinion.
- roadtoadfloridaExplorerCamp on The Gulf is expensive and the closer you get to the Gulf, the more $$$. Personally, Grayton Beach State Park tops my list. Gulf Camp have a web site. Check it and their rates out.
