Camp sites in MIchigan UP

Any suggestions for campsites in the UP? We are a 40’ and a 30’ with five grandkids between 2-5. Enjoy hiking, biking, water and woods. Last minute trip with no reservations. We can be self sufficient for a few days and are open to some dry camping...thanks all!

  • Grand Marais (county park) and Marquette (city) both have parks. and then there is Menominee, there is a city park right in the city too.

And going around the UP there are at least 6 Casinos with parking as you move along.

Give me a shout if you need any more suggestions, not sure what your timeframe is or where you are going into the UP from.

That's a waterfalls link for Michigan. If I was you, I'd head towards the Porcupine Mountains area. Look into Union Bay CG and have fun.
  • Munising area has everything you want. Try Munising tourist park campground. However I’m sure they have no openings.
  • We are open to area, but would prefer an area that has options such as hiking, biking, waterfalls and areas of interest nearby.... we were looking at pictured rocks area possibly, but open to anything that is a must see. Thanks.
  • Up is a big piece of land. Anywhere in particular that you are looking at?
