Campground close to Boston

We enjoyed our stay at the Minuteman Campground while touring Boston.

I second Minuteman. We've been there many times over the years. Clean, helpful staff, close to the T into Boston.

There's not really anywhere around Boston, including where Minuteman is, to guarantee staying out of traffic. I would definitely take the T as even just the big truck will be difficult to park in the city. You will have to get to the T station early in order to get parking.

We Stayed in Foxboro at Normandy Farms. It was very nice.

We're currently at the Outdoor Resorts Gateway to Cape Cod about an hour south of Boston in Rochester. Been into Boston 4 times now, twice during rush hour both ways. No major problems with traffic, although it is slower going during rush hour. This place shuts down on 10/16 for the season, but there's room now. We understand there's a waiting list for closing weekend, though.

Winter Island in Salem is a decent place, pretty much just a parking lot with hook-ups, but close to Boston & the train station. Some spots have a great view out over the harbor, others back up to a building.

Two things to be aware of: First, if you follow the directions to the park it take you across a city street with a weight limit, 6 k as I recall, the signed truck route gives you a good work around. Second, ask for a gate key when you check in if you will be out late - don't ask!

We really liked Minuteman. We stayed there mid-May, so it was pretty quiet. Nice, clean place. Our daughter lives in Waltham, so it was about a 40 minute drive to her place, then we either use the bus or T to get around. The streets in Boston are nothing like Kansas (where I am originally from), so it takes patience and a good co-pilot.

Minuteman without a doubt is the place to stay.

Because we were going to Cape Cod we stayed on the south side - Middleboro KOA. It was okay, mainly because nobody was there in October. There's a train to downtown not far away.

we have stayed pretty much everywhere and Minuteman is our go-to place. Normandy Farms is nice but pricy and too far from the city. salem Willows is also nice, on the water, but a challenging commute into Boston. boston Minuteman is centrally located.
