What would you like to know?

There's a huge parking lot at the trail head....park there and hike down the trail. It's pretty narrow and the drop offs are way down...but during the summer it's pretty hot for a hike to the bottom. If you start around 2AM, it's cool and as long as you're careful you'll reach the lower portion where there's a dry river bed..great stop for breakfast..then continue down to the village. Just remember the trail head can be 30 degrees cooler than the bottom of the canyon....Dennis

Thanks for the info. We are working on getting "in shape" to do this hike, but I am concerned about the drop offs etc. I have a fear of heights and already know I won't be doing Mooney Falls. I worry that I might chicken out and leave the family "hanging".

Here's the Havasupai Indian website for your information. You can call them for campground information other wise the only place I know of is on Route66 just east of Peach Springs and than attraction in own right is the Grandcanyon Caverns. This place has a campground that can easily handle any rig of any size. Leave your rig here and drive your truck to the falls trail head and its a long hike. Don't forget to read about the fees that Havasupai tribe charges.

Just to clarify, looking for a campground to stay at before hiking to the falls, not down at the falls.
