Campground Near Chapin, SC

Thanks for the replys. I was able to make a reservation at Barnyard, further away than I wanted but better than nothing.

Keep checking Dreher for cancellations. I know this would be a pain, but would they have availability if you changed sites periodically?

Putnam's Landing

Located on the north shore of Lake Murray, Putnam's Landing (no website; 1201 Putnam Dr, Chapin; 803-345-3040) is open from April to October and features 24 sites for tents or RVs. Sites include sewer and electrical hookups, but offer central water only. Shower and restroom facilities are located in the campground, and Putnam's landing also offers an on-site restaurant.

I have not stayed there just knew they had sites.

About 25 miles from Chapin..

This is just off I-26 Peak Exit (97) (Also White Rock/ Ballentine) which is less than 10 miles from Chapin. http://www.woodsmoke.webs.com/ It's been there a long time. My mother stayed there about 10 years ago in a big DP.

Not many RV parks in the Chapin area. Used to live there and was so unhappy when Dreher Island SP went to reservations instead of first come first serve. Good luck!

We still have 100+ acres near Pomaria, SC....maybe we should consider opening an RV resort/park:) Pomaria is only 7-8 miles from Chapin!

Might check out the local home/duplex rentals, they may work something out for a short stay...just a thought.
