Campground near Dinosaur State Park Connecticut

Looking for a campground closest to Dinosaur state park in Connecticut just to sleep for one night. We have a 35 foot TT. Need electricity at least. We do not need any frills. We will be arriving from Michigan and leaving first thing in the morning.
Pull through, FHU would be best but ease of location and on/off freeway is most important. A quick search showed no KOAs in the area, which is our usual quick stop for sleeping. We are not interested in Walmart or truck stops.
Thanks
  • The reason you didn't get an answer yet is 'cause there isn't anything near there. Witch way are you going from there?

Starting to realize there truly is nothing anywhere near the area.
We're coming from Michigan, so heading east. Looks like 80 to 84 through Pennsylvania and into Connecticut, then 691.
  • There are 2 in East Hampton but they are on the other side of the river.
  • Bear creek campground in Bristol is not to far from I691 in ct

For what is worth and just my opinion when we went to Dinosaur state park some 20 yrs ago we thought it was over rated and our kids were bored. :)

  • We like Dinosaur State Park - not a huge attraction - but interesting for an hour or 2. Bear Creek Campground in Bristol, CT at Lake Compounce is only about a 1/2 hour from there. Haven't stayed there yet...
