Campground recommendations - Iowa City to Badlands NP

Question

We are currently in Iowa City heading to Badlands National Park in a few days. We have 2 nights to camp en route so I would appreciate suggestions. We prefer non-commerical parks such as COE, State and local campgrounds.

We stayed in Yankton, SD at the Lewis &amp; Clark Recreation area. They have 50 amp but no water or sewer. It's a really nice campground right on the lake.We then took 81 to 18 to 281 to the Badlands.

When you get to the Badlands, I'd suggest Cedar Pass CG on the east side of the park.

To find other public campgrounds I recommend The Ultimate Public Campground Project. It seems to be the most comprehensive of all public campground databases.
