campground recommendations- Palm Springs area

Some of the reviews I've been reading are only fair for the Palm Springs/Desert Springs area. Anyone have a recommendation. We'll be traveling there next July in a Class A.

  • I July are you kidding.
Spent a week there in July years ago. Low at night was 95 high 118.
No way your RV AC will keep up.
  • July? As Tuna FIsher said,is not the idea time to go to PS. According to a climate site I checked, the average temps for July is 108F.
  • We stayed in Desert Hot Springs at Caliente, very nice, lot of park models, 1st class amenities, 10 miles from Palm Springs.
  • Arguably the best RV parks in the world are Outdoor Resorts - Indio and Motorcoach Country Club, with Outdoor Resorts Cathedral City not far behind. (I don't count Desert Shores because I don't think you can get a rental site there). But you will pay the price and they aren't everyone's cup of tea. EDIT: Forget what I just said, you are going there in July? The park won't matter. You will be unable to leave your RV it will be so hot. Expect daytime highs to exceed 110 degrees. The pools, if open, will resemble giant hot tubs and will not provide any cooling comfort. The only thing that will matter is how good your air conditioner is. If it is exceptional, you might find the heat bearable. If it works only marginally in normal weather, may God have mercy on your soul. There is a reason nothing goes on in the desert in the summer.
