We are currently in our 173rd different rv park - many several times....16 years part time RVing.
That being said, here is what I do going to a new area. I go to RV Park Reviews first....throw out the high and the low and anything over 2 years old. Then call a couple - amazing how decisions can sometimes be made by how you are treated over the phone.
Then I post on here for suggestions. I LOVE this Forum and I have come to know people who are upfront and honest - most of them - and those who's opinion I just toss. And some have become good friends on here and some later have even met.
I truly like RVPark Reviews and have twice had them reject my initial first comments on a place. I don't like dishonesty from anyone place of business (or anyone for that matter) and I ripped them for that. I rewrote and it still was too much I guess so did it a third time after a couple of days when I had calmed down. It was posted.
You know what? They were right in their rejection of my first two potential postings - they were written in anger and frustration and needed time to state the same thing in reasonable terms. I realize that now.
A lot of these others will tell you where the parks are but not that much about them....but some, I admit, are good; just not personal info that I like.
I have only had 4 parks I have had major issue with - all involving honesty. One still owes me money after many years...near Zion (not in Springdale). Others in Moab (now new ownership and going back there), Woodbury, Mn, and recently in Kelso, WA.
Bottom line for me ---- RV Park Reviews and this forum.
Be safe.
