- Dick_BExplorerWhen all else fails I do a Google search for `______ campgrounds' and put the city in the space.
- rockhillmanorExplorerI full time now and I have found that the Woodalls book is NOT a complete list of CG's. That fat book went out the window after just a few weeks on the road. Wrong phone numbers, wrong directions, ratings that do NOT represent the CG etc etc.
rvpark reviews is NOT have a complete list of CG's. If you solely use this for looking for CG's you will miss out on a LOT of very nice CG's.
As you also will if you make your decision based on the reviews.
The only CG book I found to be useful is the KOA list of their CG's. I prefer to stay at KOA and THEIR book of CG's is complete and has excellent directions, CURRENT and CORRECT information and pictures.
That all said, I use google search for CG's in the area I am in, yellow/white pages, dexknows.
7 years on the road and I have never been without a nice CG to stay at for the night. AND most of the ones I have stayed at are NOT listed in Woodalls and/or rvparkreviews.
Just saying you will miss out on a lot of very nice CG's if you limit yourself to those two resources for CG searches. - vermilyeExplorerI use AllStays Camp & RV app. It has short descriptions, GPS coordinates, links to park websites, RVpark reviews, etc, and has filtering that lets you look for specific types of campgrounds (as well as Warmarts, LP, etc.
- fla-gypsyExplorerNo single source has all the available CG's listed. It is best to use multiple sources particularly if you plan to spend more than 1 day there to assure it meets your needs. Also, not every locator site offers independent reviews. This may be the most comprehensive site I have seen for locating campsites.

For reviews I use multiple sources and read between the lines. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,

We and many other RVers have quit using RvPark Reviews when there was too much censoring of the criticism of owners. We use Woodalls.com to narrow the choices around a destination then look for reviews at TripAdvisor.com; there are also reviews of cgs elsewhere too - just do a search for campground reviews. When you narrow down your choices you can search this forum for the cg to see if anyone has been there.
I agree with your assessment on rvpark reviews.... I don't use them anymore either - pjzoccExplorer

I too am curious as to how you know this to be happening? Your personal reviews being edited? I've read many reviews on that site that have blasted campground ownership.
I've found that site to be quite useful, as they seem to have the biggest sampling of reviews for with which to take a sampling from. If they're censoring criticisms at will, I'll have to find a new resource. - magnusfideExplorer II

Personal experience. Search this forum and you will find others who have had negative experiences with RVPR. Note: one of the posters here owns RVPR but did not reveal that fact immediately which is dishonest representation of information. It makes a difference when the owner of a website praises his own.
We too use several sources for locating cgs. When we're short on time we use Woodalls to locate several quickly. When doing long range planning we use RVParky and several others to create our itinerary. - garmpExplorer III have to agree with fla-gypse, http://www.uscampgrounds.info/ is great. Also found that ultimatcampgrounds can be of value. And as said before, there's always Google.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
So this is just your "personal opinion" and not based on any research.magnusfide wrote:

I have personally posted numerous reviews & comments on RV Park Reviews. Some of my comments have been positive and some not so complimentary. RV Park Reviews has ALWAYS posted my comments word for word. That being said, all sources have to be tempered with your own common sense.
