Cordless power tools

Looking for some info please

1. What's best brand to look at
2. What volt size should I get
3. Will a cordless impact driver work on the lug nuts?
4. Which cordless power tools should I own.

    I own a construction company and I think that for the money you can not beat Dewalt. Get the highest voltage you can buy and you will have them for years. Mine are hammered on a daily basis and I get 3 or 4 years out of them. My Dewalt impact will tighten any lug nut you desire.

    I carry Craftsman 18 v drill and craftsman 18V impact wrench. Neither have failed to do what I ask them to do.

    Get whatever kit is offering the most batteries included.

    18 and 20v are the same, just marketing, get whichever is cheaper

    Yes if you break them first with a breaker bar. The very expensive impact wrench might do it without assistance.

    4. Which cordless power tools should I own.

    What are your needs? I have a bunch of different Porter Cable power tools, including a cordless air compressor and fluorescent light, all use the same batteries.

    Brand? Any of the name brands will do you a good job.
    Volts? Not as importand as torque and battery AH rating. I have two Hitachi cordless drills. One I really like, one I absolutely hate. The difference? The one I hate has a battery that will not operate my four stabilizers without recharging.
    DeWalt, Hitachi, Porter Cable are all really good. But again, pick the one with high torque rating and the highest battery AH number.

    I am an appliance technician. I use this one 10 times a day for 3 years now. I have wore out many, many others.



    Hatachi Driver

    I don't think a big impact driver is worth having, unless you are doing your own tire rotations. If you want; you could use the Hatachi after the nuts were broken loose with a t bar lug wrench.

    I run a cabinet shop and a light weight 12v works great for me. Depends on what your doing as for what your needs are big is not always better .. That being said I like Dewalt but I don't need one in my shop.

    I have a 24 volt, 450 inch pound of torque DeWalt. I bought it in 2001 for the purpose of raising the roof on our popup camper. It did a fine job. I now use it to lower the stabs on the TT, and also around the house. It is on it's third battery, and second chuck bolt.

    So after almost 17 years. I can safely say it has been a good drill, and I expect it to last a good bit longer.
