Campground suggestions near Asheville, NC.

Don't need a lot of amenities just a nice clean park with level sites.
  • We spent a week at Lake Powhatan in the National Forest in December last year. Our site was very long and flat. Most sites are very private. There are hiking trails and lakes throughout the area.

It is easy access to downtown Asheville and Biltmore estate and very close to I-26.
  • Campfire Lodgings. Nice smallish, well kept, friendly staff.
  • Another vote for Mama Gertie's...... The view from up top was breath taking! The upper sites were very level, I believe the others weren't too bad either. :B

  • Bear creek is at the interchange of I-26 and I-40. How soundproof is your unit? Road noise is a factor here, or can be depending on which end of the park you get put. Its the closest to the Biltmore estate. Nice and clean and close to everything. If you can, go eat at Biscuit Head.
  • We stayed at Mama Gertie’s Hideaway campground, the sites are level, the facilities are immaculate and the fees are reasonable.
