Campgrounds going south on 395 from Reno

We are traveling this way and are looking for suggestions for campgrounds good for a big rig. Forest Service would be especially
great so we could use the access pass for half price. Any ideas?
  • Not FS but Browns Town (RV Park) in Bishop is very nice and not too pricey. We paid $25 in our 24' Class C in late August.

  • Convict Lake Campground is about 34 miles north of Bishop, California on Highway 395. From Bishop, travel north on 395. The turnoff to the campground is across from Mammoth Yosemite Airport and is well-signed. From Mammoth Lakes, travel on Highway 395 south for 5 miles. Turn west off of Highway 395.
  • On CA / NV border, I've always liked Lake Topaz CG/Casino. I think its still 20 bucks a night and you get some great Casino coupons for food and drink. I believe they give a triple A/ Good Sam discount.
  • Lots of choices! How far south are you going? What towns/areas do you wish to stay in or near?
