Planning a trip to the St.Louis area next year any recommendations for campgrounds on or near the city and attractions would be helpful.

Edmund Babler State Park is awesome. It's easy to get into the city. The spaces are lush with manicured grass and are very large. It's a huge park with a swimming pool, hiking trails, lots of road to ride bikes and lots of shade. Highly recommended.
