campgrounds near Assateague

Question

I am considering a summer position at the Assateague Island National Seashore and will be traveling with my wife in a 35 ft fifth wheel RV. Any suggestions for long-term stay in driving distance to Berlin, MD?

Castaways is maybe the closest. There is the CG in the park but it is dry camping. The SP has services but limits on time.

Can't you stay in the park? There sue won't be anything cheaper in the area.In fact some of them will be real expensive in the summer.

The host sites have w/e at the National Seashore if that is what your position will be.
Fort Whaley would be your best bet price wise, a half hour to the park from there. The park is not actually in Berlin BTW. This is a resort area, there are not any bargains here anywhere near the beach in season.

Island Resort CampgroundIf you cant get a site on Assateague, this is your best bet from a private CG. By far, less expensive than the big 3 and very nice. It is located in Newark, only a few miles from Atlantic General Hospital and Berlin. Probably a 15 minute drive to Assateague.
