Across the river in Augusta, GA the Masters is introducing a new women's tournament beginning April 6 and immediately following will be the practice rounds and the tournament itself through April 14. We know from experience that hotels in Aiken and beyond fill up, not sure about state parks and nicer RV Pars.
btw, I don't think Aiken State Park is full service. In SC only a few have sewer hook ups.
X2^^!!. We lived in the Augusta and Aiken County area for 26 years and Masters' week is when sane people get the heck out of town. Everything within 75 miles will be booked solid. We're in the area right now for medical and dental appointments and have been told we'll have to leave before the Masters'.
On another note, one of the reasons we left Aiken County was the taxes. Housing and other costs are reasonable, but property and vehicle taxes will eat your lunch. Check out Kiplinger's tax map and info for retirees.
