Last summer, we were really happy with a site very close to the building with pool, meeting room, large laundry room, restaurant (even though we don't have kids and never used the pool.) The building houses a conference center, but even with extra cars and people arriving on a Saturday night, it never bothered us because of the way the campground staff managed traffic. No noise issues. Very professional place overall- they run a tight ship.
If you've never been to DC, plan to attend one of their afternoon briefings about the city (room was filled!) for great info, Metro maps, tour info, directions, etc. The little restaurant's food was excellent.
Without doubt, the best big city-access campground we've seen (NOT a grubby parking lot like Liberty Harbor in NY and others.). Worth every penny. Besides the great location very close to town (at the Beltway), they offer a clean, safe, full-service, very convenient way to see DC.
