Ah yes, you are correct sir. We got to Michigan a month later and the interstates looked like a bombing range. Got pulled over by the State Troopers as they saw me repeatedly swerving from the right lane into the middle lane and back again (but only when it was empty). When they asked me why (impaired?), Told him I was dodging their freaking potholes!
He laughed and on behalf of the State of Michigan formally apologized for the condition of their roads, wished me well and sent us on our way. Between the winter they had just gone through and the 170,000# steel trucks they allow on the road Michigan and DC really are in a dead heat for the worst road conditions in the nation.
