Camping at Petit Jean in Ark?

Anyone? Questions are is it noisy, nice campsites, or party central? My neighbor is thinking about taking a trip up there but several post on trip advisor was not favorable towards a quiet and restful camping experience. Any help would be appreciated!
  • Petit Jean is one of the nicest state parks in Arkansas. The climb to the top was a little steep but not bad, i've been on worse in my travels. Real nice lake and large campground among the tree's. It was quiet when we were there. Couldn't ask for better scenery and over looks. I think you will enjoy.
  • Camped there on two occasions, it was quiet both times. Nice campsites under the pines. Nice hiking trails and overlooks. Recommended.
  • While you are there be sure to buy some Petit Jean Brand bacon. The very best in the world!! Petit Jean meat company is in Morrilton. All of their products are great. The park is wonderful.
  • I camped there over the 4th of July in 2008 and it was fantastic and very quiet. Here are some of my pictures of the campsites, views and hiking trails.

  • We have been camping there several times (30 min from the house). We have never had a problem with noise, the park is monitored closely for problems.
It is one of the nicest camp grounds in the state. We like Wolly Hollow state park as well.
Mather lodge restaurant is a good place to eat with a view.

    Don't forget the sun set.
  • It is a very beautiful state park with great camp sites. There are some full hookup sites right on the lake that just can't be beat. It was very quiet when we stayed there a few years ago. We highly recommend it. We came in from the east and left through the west and had no problems with grades either way.
  • We stayed there several years ago and found it one of the best state parks we've been in. They have full hook-ups and beautiful sites, even a nice restaurant. Not sure about being noisy, not when we stayed, but maybe there was noisy people staying at the park. Make sure you check out sun sets at the west end of the park.

The only thing we found it's a bit of a grade on the way to and from the park.
