camping in heber springs arakansas

Going there in a few days planning to stay at the COE campground John F. Kennedy any suggestions as to what sites are best. Or any suggestions to other campgrounds in the area.
  • Ok we stayed there in early June. Looking at my notes I see:
"OK but not great COE cg"
    "Pads old disintegrating asphalt"
    "Tight Spaces"
    "Lots of bugs"
"Way off the Interstate coming from the east."
I gave it a three rating, we stayed at 5 COE cg in a few weeks and this one doesn't really stand out in my memory, I recall that the loops were confusing.
I do recall acquiring a real dislike of OK roads.
  • Greers Ferry lake, Red river trout fishing, Macks Fish House restaurant, Red Apple Inn on Eden Isle, Verona Italian restaurant.
If your younger than me you might go hike up Sugar Loaf mountain, or rent a pontoon boat at the Heber marina.
  • WOW! been thirty years since I was there. town of CASH ark was a general store, had a 1 ton ford with a tank on it for a fire dept. great place .
  • Nice area. We stayed at the Dam Site(Greers Ferry). Enjoyed the town and the whole area. Pleasant, quiet park, but that was 10 years ago.
