The premium sites are very different than the rest of the park. When going to the premium sites, it's like going to a totally different park. The main CG is pretty tight, but also more shady. The premium sites are in a different section, almost like it was a separate add-on. MUCH larger, but relatively no shade. Going off memory, I was there about 2 years ago. We were on the premium sites, and just due to the size difference, I would choose those again. But if you're going in Oct, I imagine the regular CG sites may not be as packed as they were when we went (in July).
We chose Trav-L-Park over KOA due to many recommendations here. And stayed away from First Landing due to no sewer hook-ups. I do remember some of the Navy jets flying overhead, but I don't remember them being bothersome. My kids (10, 7, and 7 at the time) didn't have any issues sleeping.
