Camping near grayson highlands or damascus Virginia

we want go camp around Grayson Highlands state park. I have heard some bad reviews of Grayson being small sites. are their better camping near Damascus? want to be close to the AT and hiking and see...

We stayed at Laurel Creek RV Park in Damascus. Nice 15 site RV park along the creek. I called the owner and he came by later to collect money. We biked on part of the VA Creeper Trail. It is beautiful. Very little pedaling required.
