Hello, We're looking for a campground near Lancaser. We don't need anything fancy, just clean and quiet. We're not traveling with kids, so playgrounds etc aren't important. We prefer full hookups (W/E/S). We're traveling from NJ just off I-78 so campgrounds east and north are better. Also, any suggestions on attractions? We've been to Valley Forge and Gettysburg several times, so we'll pass on those this trip Thanks!

Hi - would give 2 thumbs up to Country Acres CG in Bird-In-Hand, PA, just outside Lancaster. Spent several nights there last Fall - clean, nice folks. At that time they had an Amish girl come thru the CG each evening, with a cart FULL of wonderful baked goods to sell! We spent our time touring the countryside. Many covered bridges, farms, etc. The Lancaster C of C, or visitor's bureau, maintains a good website with lots of listings for current happenings, too. ST

We have stayed several times at Country Haven Campground when visiting the Amish area near Lancaster.If you go, try the Shady Maple Smorgasbord nearby in East Earl. Go hungry - all you can eat!We also like to ride the Strasburg Railroad. The PA Railroad Museum is right across the street and has some huge steam engines and more.

Spring Gulch Campground is our favorite.Bruce
