If you're wanting to stay near the Interstate, there's not much to choose from that matches your criteria close to Charleston. Farther south, Camp Creek and Pipestem are beautiful CG's that are easy access from I-77. If you are wanting to stay close to I-77, like someone else mentioned, Wolf Run State Park in Caldwell, Ohio is your next best choice (for a State Park kind of atmosphere). The Huntington/Milton KOA is a very nice CG (stayed there several times), but it is west of Charleston on I-64....which is at least a half hour out of your way (again..a nice facility, but not a "park" with trails, etc..) About a half hour north of Charleston is Rippling Waters CG (stayed there for a week)..very clean CG with a beautiful lake (We stayed in the paved, full-hookup section on the right side of the CG map). This CG is pretty close to I-77.
Unfortunately, although WV has a ton of awesome CG's, there aren't many near the state capital. Good luck and happy camping!!!
