Canada has some great Military campgrounds

For those that have used any Canadian Military Campgrounds
1. How were they?
2. I have a real old (2007)info guide, anything newer or better info ?

Was also told years ago that they have something like American Legions and many don't mind if you overnight and some even have hook ups, but be sure to call first as like ours on US side, not all are set up or can allow camping/overnighting. Any info would be helpful.

We did a quick tour of the one on Vancouver Island near Comexhttp://www.cg.cfpsa.ca/cg-pc/Comox/EN/Facilities/TeePeePark/Pages/Campground.aspx We were car camping in a mini-van and doing a tour of Vancouver Island at the time.
Anybody have any info willing to share?????
Thanks
  • There is a CG in CFB Petawawa that is open to the public There is a lot of sand in the whole area and the CG is no exception. It is right on the Ottawa river.
  • There is one at CFMETR on Nanoose Bay, but only base employees are allowed to use it, as it is funded and maintained entirely by them.
