I am sure there are holders of other foreign currencies that would like a better exchange rate also. Pesos, Dollars, or Pounds, what matters is the perceived value for the money spent. I don't go North or South to save money.
The funny thing is the Canadian dollar is one of the best performing currencies in the world in the last few years. Out performing the Yen, the pound, the euro, and a bunch of other major currencies. Any country with their currency called "the dollar" gets a rough time as people always compare it to the American dollar. Other countries with other names for their currency really don't pay attention as much to the comparison but rather to the price of things in their currency.
