I am sure there are holders of other foreign currencies that would like a better exchange rate also. Pesos, Dollars, or Pounds, what matters is the perceived value for the money spent. I don't go North or South to save money.
I guess I could go to Mexico! But I still have to cross the U.S. My Motorhome is not very good in deep water so the other countries are out.
If your trip suddenly cost $1800. more you would not blink. Most RVers are complaining when fuel prices and RV park prices increase.
