Staying home to avoid gun violence….? Really ????…..How about staying off the road and selling your car because of all the insane drivers talking on cell phones while driving (more deaths that DUI'S) and drunk drivers. Would you do that? I doubt it. Chances are probably greater dying from that than gun violence.
Staying home from paranoia as a result of news media reports is such a waste of your life. How many winters have you got left ? What if you or your spouse gets ill and can't travel? What if your insurance is so high you can't afford it? My point is, if you can manage it and love to go south, do it. There are no trailer hitches on a hearse 'cause you "can't take it with you"
As a Canadian on a fixed income, I can understand why people are concerned about the costs and exchange rate. There are ways to deal with this. If you like to dine out, cut back and eat at home. If you like expensive wine, buy cheaper wine, find a cheaper RV park, in other words, find a way to cut back but go and enjoy what winter vacation time you have before it's not possible.
