Cape Cod

I know there are quite a few posts about Cape Cod, but would like some suggestions regarding best park for a 33' TT, preferably pull thru site with FHU, and not one on top of the other. It's just the wife and I, so really don't need much at the campground itself. Trying to get there next Thursday and leave Tuesday morning; do you think it's safe traffic wise to go towards the middle of the cape, or should we stay closer to the bridge for an easy escape on Tuesday? We haven't been there since our kids were young, so I'm sure a lot has changed.

    Stayed at this place in October and we loved it there and loved the Cape!! Definitely will be going back to both.

    Currently staying at Cape Cod Camp Resort in Falmouth. Plenty of room for any size rig. There are 40'+ class A's here. We choose this campground because we have family close by.

    Gateway to Cape Cod (Thousand Trails) worked for us. Took the toad across bridge to Cape and parked. Then spent the day on Nantucket...truly awesome. It was also near a rail station for day trip into Boston. Another thing I really like about this park is that it was 7 minutes from a nice shopping area with a WM, Target and tons of other stuff including good restaurants. And as TT zone pass holders, very affordable.

    X2 on Sweetwater CG in Brewster - very nice CG, and has sites you will fit. It fills up summers, but you're probably early enough.

    Traffic is tough coming ON cape Friday eves, and coming or going Sat around noon - leaving cape Sunday afternoon is a mess. Mid-week should be OK this time of year.

    DEFINITELY take in a Cape Cod Baseball League game, or two, or three. Great league ...

    Thursday is the new Friday. Thursday traffic much worse than Friday. Apparently the Millennials have more vacation that we did.

    I've not seen a campground on the cape that doesn't have a site you would fit in, pick any of them. Availability is another matter.

    Sweetwater Forest is more woodsy, has more character with the hills, trees, pond if that is what you like. Roads can be tough though in the back part with the larger RV's, a lot of the sites could have been better leveled/grated. I remember the front part of the campground having some super large sites that looked easy to back into, may consider one of those.

    jplante4, that's not exactly what I wanted to hear, lol, especially since that is what I am trying to avoid!

    Is it better to go central cape and be in the middle of everything or stay by bridge? Probably is 6 one way, half dozen another; fighting traffic to get to where you want to go during stay, or fight traffic on way out, correct?

    We stayed at Atlantic Oaks a few years ago and really liked the campground. Pull thru sites were surprisingly roomy. The campground is directly on the Rail Trail, a really, really cool bicycle path that used to be a railroad line that runs up and down the middle of the Cape.
