Might just be me, but when in the area, we have always enjoyed Asheville and the Biltmore along with Lake Toxaway, if you are into the Mountains.
Along the Coast Hilton Head has been Great with the Marina CG/ Sunset Restaurant that is on the Intercoastal and the Beaches that are so hard you can ride your bike on them.
In early November it is likely the Christmas decoration might be up and the Beach is still not too Cold :)
Along the Central lakes there are also a number of High End resort type CG's that are available if that's your thing.
SeaFood and Sunrises and Sunsets are the thing that we most remember.
