CG 200 miles north of Key Largo on 95 corridor

Heading to Key Largo next week, would like to stop for an overnight about 200, give or take, miles north of there. Heading there by way of I-95 to Fla Turnpike.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  • Right off 95 in Fort Pierce - Treasure Coast RV Resort - a 10! Check it our on RV Park Reviews
  • Have stayed at TY park. Great place but a bit of train noise. Prefer Markham over TY.

Broward County parks cost about $42.50 per night. Reservations can be hard to get at times. We tried to book TY for the last week of Feb 2015 and could not get a reservation throughout Oct, Nov and Dec. then suddenly on the 2nd of Jan, there was an opening. So keep trying.

Palm Beach County has nice parks.

We also stayed at Savannas Recreation Area - a St Lucie County park near Fort Pierce. That is about 185 miles north of Key Largo. Savannas Rec Area

If you have a dog, keep it on a leash. The signs warn of alligators and we saw a couple on one of the trails.

I'm quite surprised and very pleased with the county run RV parks in southeast Florida.
  • Stuart, FL is about 170 miles from Key Largo and we have a COE site that is great. From I-95 take exit 101 (hwy 76). Turn right and go to the Army Corp of Engineer's St. Lucie South Park. They have great sites, at COE prices. Right beside it is Phipps Park, they also have sites. You can book online.

  • You may want to look at John Prince park.
I believe it was a palm bch county park, right on a lake, easy to get to from 95 , or the turnpike.
Quick google search should give more info.
    We've stayed there several times.
  • We have stayed at Encore near Vero Beach a few times, very handy and nice. The best place to get to the TPK is at Jupiter.
