purpose is to conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wild life therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations
conserve, leave them unimpaired ... that's pretty clear to me, it means don't turn the national park into a Disneyland, which is the way many would seem to prefer it?
Unquote:
We get it, and we know folks want to see the parks - but if it continues like it is now, with no upkeep, limited maintenance, and most of these "I want to see it folks" continue to trash the parks, the wilderness areas will cease to exist for anyone, including the wildlife it protects.
The most important phrase: "... leave it unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations ..." Unfortunately, we are way beyond 'leaving it unimpaired' already.
