I've planned a trip mid-July - Plan on spending it in Cherokee, NC at Happy Holidays Park...Anyone spent time in this area and have any comments about the fun we'll have ??

Spent a week there about 25 years ago. Memory is A bit faded, but I do recall it was interesting place within easy drive to smokies and to Asheville and Biltmore house

How long are you planning on being there? Not much more than a couple days worth of stuff to do in Cherokee itself unless you are a gambler or like fishing. There are things to do within a 1-2 hr drive though. If you go to cades cove, you might as well hit gatlinburg as well.

I agree with wbwood also try Pigeon Forge TN also real lot to see and do there.
