Closest Campground To Sesame Place (Langhorne, PA)

I'm having a hard time finding a close campground to Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA. The closest that I'm finding is Jackson, NJ at about 35 miles/45-50 minutes away. The other way is Quakertown, PA at about 40 miles/60 minutes away.

It doesn't seem like there are state or county parks with camping in the area.

(On edit- I've Googled "campgrounds near Langhorne, PA", "campgrounds near Sesame Place" and I've checked out RVParkReviews.com for the surrounding area.)

Does anyone know any secrets?

  • To get discount tickets for Sesame Place check out their website. We were able to save some money when we visited in May several times.

Even better she is not available... More room for you!!!!!!! :B

There are a few hotels that should be stayed away from... I think 20/20 just had a sting at one of them?? :-). If you are interested ,if you have to stay at a hotel , drop me a PM and I will give you the no's and no way's !!! Thee are a few nice that will allow you to park your camper while you stay,, and they are clean...and safe,,

Sadly, it's really the driveway itself that is unavailable. She's hosting a baby shower and needs the space! :) I just thought it weird to write "my cousin's driveway is unavailable when we want to use it". :D

We have stayed in the area before- if we hotel it, we'll likely hit up a Marriott or Holiday Inn or something like it. We haven't often had bad experiences with those. I'll shoot you a PM if we hotel it and see what you think.

Thanks everyone. You've confirmed what I was finding. Drat. Might have to slum it at a hotel...

We're coming up for just a weekend (Friday to Sunday). Made more difficult by being a "big rig" (42' fiver + crew cab/long bed truck).

If we camp, I think I've settled on Butterfly Camping Resort based on reviews and "feel" from their web site.

I had to laugh at the "believe me.. That's a LONG 26.1 miles...". Thanks for that. :)

Otherwise, driveway camping at my cousin's house is an option. She lives in the area- but isn't available the weekend that we want to go. :(

  • I live about 3 miles from Sesame Place. There are no campgrounds in the immediate area. Traffic around here (especially when Sesame Place is open) can be brutal and frustrating. I would not hesitate to recommend that you camp in Jackson/Cream Ridge NJ, as there are two nice CGs there and it's really only about 1/2 hour away by highway. I've been to Laurel Pond, but they have no amenities for children. Across the road from them is Timberland Lake CG, and that looks more kid-friendly. Both are situated to be near Six Flags Great Adventure. The Langhorne/Oxford Valley PA area has hotels available near Sesame Place, but I don't know if any of them will allow for RV parking. I'm sure they probably wouldn't let you live in your rig.

If you would like any advice on how to navigate the area, or recommendations on sights to see, routes to take or avoid, or restaurants and shopping - please feel free to ask me either in this thread or via PM.
  • Try colonial woods... They are in Upper Black Eddy... It is about an hour from there... There are also some in NJ , but I have never stayed at them and from looking at them from the road , it would be hard to get my truck in , let alone the trailer... Look in the Jackson NJ area.... That is about 45 minutes ....how long will you be staying?

    On edit---
Timberland Lake Campground- 26.4 miles- Cream Ridge NJ

Tohickon Family Campground- 26.1 miles- Quakertown PA--believe me.. That's a LONG 26.1 miles... Probably about 1 hour and 20 minutes..or so..

Homestead Campground- 27.1 miles- Greenlane PA.

I live in Churchville PA.. That's 15-20 minutes from the park...there is nothing close... Nota....
