We just spent a few days at the FS campgrounds on Turquoise Lake near Leadville. There were a few out with kayaks but it might be a little too cold for paddle boarding.
Beautiful area with the snow capped mountains reflecting off of the lake.
We also spent a half day in the Colorado Springs area, the Garden of the Gods is a must see. We also went on a 1 hour tour of the olympic training facility. You can't beat the price, they're both free.
