Columbia River Gorge Washington State Campground?

We are going to be in Washington and Oregon in Mid May. After we complete hwy 101 on the coast of Oregon we plan to head east at Astoria. We look to run along the Columbia River on hwy 30 as it should...

I agree with Maryhill. Whether you take 14 or I-84 is a draw, IMHO. If you've never taken 84, you may not know that it is very scenic, for a freeway, is in excellent condition and the traffic is light once you get out of Portland.
