Maryhill is on the "dry" side of the river, in other words more open sites with better views but less woodsy. Also more windy. Lots of lawn around the campsites. Ainsworth SP on the OR side of the river also has FHU but is more in the woods. It is closer to the trains, but the trees help block the sound and the wind. No real views, but you're right on US 30 where all the waterfalls are. Bookmark this link for a brochure on the historic highway through the gorge.
