- wannavolunteerFExplorerWhen I saw the suggestion for Pine Lakes at Bishop, I thought that was the name of the place a friend stays at to got the the UGA football games. I took a look at the pictures expecting to see lots set up with Bulldog decorations since Bishop is very close to Athens and found a picture of him and his wife. Guess I will have to make a point to stay there sometime now.

There is a great R V Resort in Dillard, Ga River Vista RV Resort not close to Commerece but close to lots of other things Smokey Mtns.

Just so you know, it's 62 miles from Commerce to Dillard and it takes a good hour & 15-30 min to get there from I-85. Dillard is very close to the GA/NC line.
Yup, it's not really relevant to the OPs request. That and an FYI: River Vista has very little room in their sites with a parking lot layout. - Chock_Full_o__NExplorer

There is no longer a full hook up in Commerce Ga. Type in Good Sam Parks and I think you will find a couple of Parks near by. There is a great R V Resort in Dillard, Ga River Vista RV Resort not close to Commerece but close to lots of other things Smokey Mtns. Do not use Country Boys bad...........
Jim - haste_makerExplorer IIThanks for the info...but it looks like I need to forget staying in this area...

OH you are so wrong, my dear chick-a-dee!
This campground is almost 40 miles away from Commerce and almost an hour drive. - HorsedocExplorer IIAlso a state park relatively close called Victoria Bryant SP near Franklin Springs and not far from I-85. Beautiful sites, wide, concrete on some and paved roads. No sewer, but nice dump station
- wbwoodExplorerWatson Mill Bridge State Park is not too far away. There is only way to get into the RV park part of it though. You need to check and follow the directions. The other entrance is across a covered bridge.
I think there is water and electric, but not FHU. - padredwNomadThere "used to be" a KOA at Commerce, then it went independent and maybe it is now out of business. It has been several years since we stayed there. ("Sonny Boy's RV)
Just up the road about 30 miles near Lavonia, GA is the little Sunset RV Park. It is simple, but has full hookups. We have stayed there several times. I would not hesitate to go back there--IF it is still in business.
Some of my ancestors came to Texas from Banks County, GA so we have stayed in this area many times. Out on the Interstate it is called "Banks Crossing."
