I'm think the OP should go to a state park.
And don't worry about the satellite signal...this is camping, right? It's a lot cheaper to watch TV at my house.
I just have a different approach to some when it comes to the rv. When I think camping, it is loading it up on the back and hiking it in. I did that for years and years, and as soon as my 21 month old is old enough to strap one on, we will be back at it again. The basics and foundations of camping are so important. I miss it and look forward to introducing it to my son.
The rv for my family is really a rolling condo, or vacation home on wheels. It affords my young family the opportunity to travel around our region (3-4 state area) and spend great time together. We try to "vacation" once a month. Tough with a young one and us both working full time, but we manage to make it work. But it is hard for me to call it "camping"" with heat, ac, microwave, fridge, and two flat screen tvs. Haha!
We like the resorts for the hookups mainly, you use a lot of water giving a 21 month old a bath every night! And the amenities, larger level pads for him to ride his little tricycle, etc.
Hey, we all have our style of rving, it's just great we are all our there doing it and promoting the lifestyle. I am proud when I see everything from a diesel pusher to a pop-up on the road. Folks out creating memories. I am also proud to be a part of the community.
