We were just there last August, only we stayed across the Missouri river in the Nebraska tailwaters COE campground. We did drive through Cottonwood and the site description of a slight downslope would be accurate. The sites at Cottonwood were a little further apart than the ones at Nebraska tailwaters but the sites are pretty flat at the tailwaters. The front of the rv faces the Missouri river at the tailwaters
