- littlemoExplorerYes. I am aware of where cottonwood cobe is. I guess I'm just frustrated with the fact that the area is so big and I want to see it all in just a fe
w days. It looks like Duck Creek will be my best bet for this trip.
Great information. Thanks all! - richardcoxidExplorer IICottonwood cove is on the Colorado River about 1/2 way between Lake Havasu City and Parker, AZ a few miles north of the Bill Williams Wildlife area.
- TxTwoSomeExplorerBe aware Cottonwood Cove is on Lake Mojave not Lake Mead. It is below the Hoover dam.
- littlemoExplorerLots of good information here. I hate that Duck Creek is in town but with my PA it is a great deal. Lakeside Casino is good too but will be far from Lake Mead area which I really want to see. Decisions...Decisions....
Thanks so much! - horizon36ExplorerIf you want to dry camp go to Lake Mead and stay at Boulder Beach or Las Vegas Bay. There is also a concessionaire run CG at Boulder Beach that runs $35-55/night depending on the location in their park.
If you want to be in town try Duck Creek - it's a parking lot with full hook ups and is a Passport America park (50% discount). Very clean, good dog park and next to a big park.
If you are an Elk go to the lodge in Boulder City. There is also Canyon Trail in Boulder city as well. - Off_PavementExplorer IIYou may want to check this out. Two week maximum in a gated area... Folks that stay there say it's the best kept secret in LV.
80 pull through sites at $20 per day. The complex is on the north side of the LV valley...
Clark County Shooting Range - at the bottom of the page is the RV park info.
If you have not been to the Atomic museum, it's interesting, as is the Mob museum and LV Neon Museum... go at night!
I'll put in a plug for Pahrump, NV here. West of LV over the Spring Mountains is Pahrump. A community of over 30K, we're close to Death Valley NP, and only 45 miles from the strip.
I suppose it's not cheap, but the Lakeside Casino/RV park is outstanding in appearance and rated one of the best RV parks in the country! Lakeside Casino/RV Park - littlemoExplorerThanks TexasTwoSome,
We will be in our 26FT Class C towing our small car. Looking at stopping in this area for a "good" rest (7-10 days) before heading on up toward Tahoe and then over to Fair Oaks, California for a visit with my aunt.
We would just be driving to look at the scenery. Might drive in to Las Vegas just to see the strip. Not interested in going into the casinos. Maybe stopping to see the dam. We're pretty easily entertained. LOL
Any other campgrounds or areas of interest anyone has to contribute would be appreciated.
Thanks for your input! - TxTwoSomeExplorerWe were at Cottonwood cove a few years ago before we had a camper they also have a full marina and cabins to rent.
I am sorry I do not remember the prices.
I would recommend it to anyone who is close and needing a place to stop.
