Crawfordsville Indiana / Wabash College

All-I am taking my son to a wrestling camp at Wabash College in June. I was told you can camp on the grounds of Wabash College however discovered that there is a KOA and Sugar Creek Campground there. Have any of you stayed at either one of those places before?

I would second Turkey Run State Park as a very beautiful park.
Even if you don't camp there, it is well worth exploring while your son is busy grappling.

    Sunday to a Wednesday.

  • If you do not mind about a 30 minute drive, you could book into Turkey Run State Park. It is a very popular place to camp and I would think reservations are a must.
  • We stayed at Sugar Creek Campground early last fall and found it to be decent. Good WIFI pretty much all over the park so that was nice. We had a creek side FHU site and these are really close together. Our stay was right after the schools opened back up in the early fall, during the summer when school is out the place is totally full. Can't say anything about the rest rooms or showers, we use our own. It is OK but I was not impressed, my wife seemed to like it better than I did, I won't suggest going back. Jim.
  • In my opinion, Sugar Creek is the better option. The KOA is a really cramped place. Frankly, we would not stay in either one of them.
