We've been camping at Rincon Parkway several times each year since the 70's. We have never had anything stolen. That being said in the 90's we began hearing stories from other campers about items being stolen. Since then we lock up anything of value in the cab of the truck or storage compartments in the 5th wheel.
When I have the generator in use I have a one inch cable lock and a logging chain with a large masterlock secured to the frame of the 5th wheel and the generator until we are done with it. Then I let it cool down, close the gas cap vent and lock the generator in the passenger floor of the truck.
I do leave our chairs and tables pushed up against the 5th wheel under the awning with a long light chain and lock wrapped through them.
Still haven't had anything walk away...knock on wood.
