A little OT, but some fun info. I grew up in Ventura. As teenagers (early 60's) we surfed the point in front of the fair grounds almost daily. In those days Emma Wood was known to us as "Hobo Jungle". It was undeveloped state property and there were many transient camps along the Ventura river. We would only venture in there on a double dog dare, and never after dark! I'll bet the property that is now the Ventura Beach RV Resort was dirt cheap at that time. Who knew.
Safe travels.
same here! lived in Ventura County for 17 years and also surfed the same places. during the winter, the river often floods out the homeless.
there's been crime in that area for years, homeless and non-homeless.
there's a bike path all the way from the pier, up to Emma Wood, so there's a lot of activity all along there.
