Great story.
there is nothing like getting out in the wilderness paddling a canoe or kayak.
My wife and I had a personal best Sunday when we paddled 72 miles on the French Broad River in western NC.
there were four of us. Two were in solo canoes, and she and I were in our tandem.
We started at the crack of dawn and finished about a half hour before sunset, paddling for 12 hours and fifty eight minutes with an average of 5.5 MPH.
The neat thing about the trip was the fact that we had a half dozen other paddlers who were willing to pick any one of us up if we couldn't make it.
