Dallas/Arlington campgrounds

Hey guys-

We will be spending about a week in the area starting around July 5 to visit some family. (I know it'll be crazy hot). He lives in downtown Dallas and suggested the Arlington area for a campground since it's close to both him and some activities we'll do while there. The only main options I found are a KOA and Treetops resorts. Treetops looks much more inexpensive for the week, but not many reviews.

Just wondering what you guys think of these options, or if you have others closely that may work better.

We have kids aged 3, 7 and 9. Thanks!

We have stayed at Treetops. We like it better than the KOA.
We would stay at Treetops again.
  • X2 for TREETOPS. Have stayed during September and December. Best around for visit in Arlington area.
  • I would suggest Cedar Hill State Park south of IH20. It is a very nice park and close to Dallas.

  • Also, anyone know of good ways to get discounts for six flags and hurricane harbor?
  • Grapevine there is the vineyards I like the Koa better myself The pool is really clean and the owners are super nice Also, when daughter was younger the section by the pool was nice as I keep a close eye as she rode her bike in that loop AAA if you member has discount tickets
Tickets also cheaper to buy on line
Also I believe ifyou go after 4 its cheaper and
a little less crowded Dont miss the cattle drive at the stock yards in ft worth your kids will enjoy it T
  • Lloyd Park (operated by the city of Grand Prairie) is on the west side of Joe Pool Lake. Really nice park.
Cedar Hill State Park is on the east side of Joe Pool Lake, is closer to Dallas but not as nice as Lloyd Park.
