Sitting in turn 4 for sure is better than on the front stretch for me, I'm short. For years I had seats in the area of the flag stand about 4 rows from the top, never failed I got these very tall folks around me so that limited my view (and for some reason a lot of people just want to stand about the whole time during the race:h) I did liked the fact that I could see the drivers during intro and all the pre race stuff when we sat there but during the race it was hard. So the year after the Ricky Craven/Kurt Bush duel I moved our seats over to the Pearson Tower, no regrets. About the only time we stand (and majority sitting there too) is the beginning of the race and restarts after a caution and most of the time if you want to stand is just to stretch your legs not cause you're trying to see what's going on. Can see the track well and the interesting part is watching them come off the track on to pit road. Some of the stuff that's happened on pit road was just in front of us (like Harvick & Kyle....to name one)
Can't help you with the camping part seeing I only live an hour away so I drive back and forth, but have noticed that the camp ground out from the Pearson Tower does appear to have more space than the one from the main parking(Petty Blvd)area. Plus if you sit in Pearson Tower and you camp in area behind the stands you won't have far to walk. Plus the driver's helicopters land close to that area too.
