I checked out GG on Google Maps and it's pretty close to the lake and most of the major amenities. So, while not right on the lake, it would work. I am really surprised that no one has opened another FHU campground in that area. We like Smith Mountain Lake, VA as well and there are a very limited number of FHU campsites in that area.
Yes, we have been RV camping for over 10 years after tent camping for several years before that. I'm glad you mentioned the portable grey tank idea. We had one of those for a Coleman pop-up that we sold several years ago and I had totally forgotten about them. That might make the state park a viable option even with the alcohol rules. So that brings up a couple more questions... Does the park have a water spigot for every site? We have stayed at Cunningham Falls SP in Thurmont and had to share a spigot which meant connecting and disconnecting the hose all the time. Are there any particular site #'s or areas of the park you would recommend or avoid? Thanks again for the info... :)
