DeGray lake & Aux Arc

Looking at these two COE parks in Oct. Traveling with friends. We both have 27' 5'rs. Would like to know about parks, site size, ease of access, etc as well as surrounding area. Any info is appreciated.

  • The two COE parks on DeGray lake are nothing special. Sites are pretty close together with little vegetation between them. DeGray Lake SP is very nice with lots of shade, excellent campsites. You would have no trouble getting into any of them. I would recommend trying to get sites 75-80. Big, roomy with nice lake views.
  • DeGray Lake is a beautiful park in very scenic area, large sites, lots of trees. Half an hour to Hot Springs. Hour to Crater of Diamonds State Park. Cons: 30 amp electric, no sewer, difficult to get satellite.

Aux Arc: On Arkansas River, 50 amp, water. Most sites on river, some with steep bank. Cons no sewer, some sites difficult to get satellite, some train noise. 45 minutes to Fort Smith. RR Museum, trolley, lots of history.

Another option in Arkansas is one of our favorites - Lake Catherine State Park in Hot Springs. Some sites right on the lake with easy lake access. Lots of shade. They have some 50 amp full hookup sites.
  • We stayed at Degray last year and really enjoyed it. I have a 28' TT and had no problems navigating the park. Beautiful lake with really clear water. They have a nice golf course and boat rentals if your interested. We also visited the Arkansas Diamond minds that were about an hour away.
