We like Iron Mountain. My sister likes Arleigh Moore. My brother likes Alpine Ridge, another brother likes DeGray State Park.
Alpine Ridge, Shouse Ford and the east half of Iron Mountain have direct access to the water from many campsites.
Most of Arleigh Moore, Caddo and Edgewood are too high up the ridge for easy access to the water.
Thanks Iron Mountain was what we were thinking from what we could tell from online. - PawPaw_n_GramExplorerWe like Iron Mountain. My sister likes Arleigh Moore. My brother likes Alpine Ridge, another brother likes DeGray State Park.

I've got to head up that way pretty soon myself - My early BRADDY family came from the Fredericktown, MO area back in the early 1800s. Need to go out there and do some more digging up bones haha... There is a Historical place called BRADDYFORD which is on the St Francis River I need to nail down and cross off the list. Not many of us two D's BRADDYs around... There is some BRADDYs around Branson too I guess - have seen a listing for a BRADDY Family Reunion from there...
Used to live in the Wichita falls area of Texas back in the 60s - married into it haha... Wifes family all from North Texas and Oklahoma areas.. I even know where GOBER TX is... haha Even VERIZON doesn't work there very well - Its all like the TV series Green Acres around there being you have to climb a telephone pole to get phone service...
Have fun on your vacation trip up in Missouri...

Looks like 5-6 camp grounds around the lake or close by. Also not too far away from the Diamond Fields at Murfreesboro. All just off I30 heading for Texarkana.
I personally liked camping farther up north starting at the Arkansas River where the rocky high country of Arkansas and Missouri are at.

I tell you what - Arkansas is sure loaded down with good fishing holes. I believe you go in any direction for 30 minutes and be in a great fishing hole you have never been in before haha...
I was stationed at Little Rock AFB for four years in the early 60s and we did the Radio Comms for the Misslle Silos back then... Work all day and then fish our way back to base haha... Everyone of our Af trucks had fishing gear in them behind the seats hehe...
I need to head down that way myself and see what it all looks like now. Have done a many of cross road trips over the years thru the south part of Arkansas making runs between Montgomery Al and Wichita Falls TX...
